Dr. Adrienne Wang received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of New Brunswick. She completed an internship at Vancouver Coastal Health with a focus on anxiety disorders, complex pain, and inpatient psychiatry. Dr. Wang worked for a number of years as a cognitive behaviour therapist at the Vancouver General Hospital’s Cross-Cultural Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic, where she provided assessment and individual treatment. She also provided CBT-based lectures and clinical training to psychiatry and psychology residents, medical students, and other health professionals (e.g., nurses, occupational therapists, social workers, counselors, etc.).

Dr. Wang is currently a Clinical Associate in the Department of Psychology at Simon Fraser University. She is also on the Board of Directors of AnxietyBC. She is the director of AnxietyBC’s LEAF (Living Effectively with Anxiety and Fear) program, a 10-week CBT-based intervention program for panic disorder sufferers, where she trains and supervises LEAF group facilitators. In addition to directing the LEAF program, Dr. Wang is actively involved in the development of various AnxietyBC resources/programs. She also regularly provides lectures and workshops in the areas of anxiety and mood disorders.

Dr. Wang specializes in the assessment and treatment of anxiety and mood disorders in adults. She has a special interest and expertise in working with Chinese clients and providing culturally-responsive CBT. She is fluent in both English and Mandarin. Her research interests focus on understanding factors involved in the development and maintenance of OCD and GAD. She has presented her work at numerous national and international conferences and authored self-help materials for individuals coping with anxiety problems.
